About the Artist
Monica J Pepicelli
Monica Pepicelli studied art in college and after graduating she focused on a career in marketing working for small advertising agencies and large international consulting firms. Although the choice of career was a demanding one, she was able to enjoy traveling around the world. One such business trip brought her to Giverny, France, where she was able to visit Monet’s home and garden. Upon seeing the Gardens in person Monica was influenced to take her talent and begin a lifetime hobby. Not only did this give Monica an artistic outlet but it also served as a definitive connection to nature and a positive impact on her overall well-being.
Monica looks to evoke the feelings of beauty, peace, and serenity in her paintings. She is inspired by light and the plethora of colors it creates on the landscape, as it reflects on water or off the feathers of a swan. Her paintings aim to capture that natural beauty of far-away places as well as those close to home here in Massachusetts. Her hope is that her paintings of nature bring a sense of the serenity and beauty she found at Giverny.
Monica grew up in Westchester County, New York and currently lives on Boston's coastal North Shore. As she got older, Monica was inspired by an artist friend to begin taking classes. She has since pursued classes from multiple artists to further explore the process of making art. Recently retired, Monica is focusing on her art and she also spends much of her time volunteering.
She is a member of the Newburyport Art Association, Rocky Neck Art Colony, Ipswich Art Association, the North Shore Art Association and Concord Art. She has had a solo show and has show her work in juried shows.
